Scheduling guides

How to run the daily scheduling loop — load the date, adjust shifts, solve, work the schedule, and carry the result into MediRoutes. Interactive walkthroughs reproduce the screens step by step; written guides carry the rules and the workflows.

AThe Data page

Loading a date and shaping the fleet's day before anything is solved.

  • Loading a DateThe wizard, re-import, the shared-dataset banners — and the flagged-trip triage where Drop / Continue decides what's even in the solve.Guide
  • Editing a Driver's ShiftDisable, pull-out/pull-in, garages, breaks and service stops — plus the reload rule: which edits reach the solver instantly and which need a reload.WalkthroughTable
  • Funding SourcesExclusion defers whole journeys to manual dispatch — it never removes trips, and the unassigned panel becomes the hand-dispatch worklist.Guide
  • Editing a Driver's Shift — written companionThe written companion to the shift-editing walkthrough above, covering the same rules as prose.Guide

BBefore you solve

Choices made in the run dialog, and what happens while a solve runs.

  • Manual SchedulingEmpty baseline → hand assignments (which auto-pin — Pin all is redundant) → MediRoutes → commit → extend with the solver.Walkthrough
  • Choosing the SolvePartial-day vs full-day (judge by morning coverage), region scope, and the New solve vs Re-solve from baseline decision table.GuideTable
  • Staging the Day by RegionSolve one region, commit and transcribe it, then re-solve with “Keep a region, expand the rest” — shown as the timeline it really is.Diagram
  • While a Solve RunsThe progress screen, why everyone converges on one run, and what the failure and cancelled cards mean.Guide

CThe Schedule tab

The bulk of daily use: reading the screen, placing trips, editing the plan, committing.

  • Reading the Schedule ScreenBanner colours (amber = review, red = do not dispatch), the metrics pills, who can press what, and the layout toggle.Walkthrough
  • Assigning a TripThe three-panel move: pick the van, pick the trip, and the one button where they meet — with auto-pinning and the force path.Walkthrough
  • Splitting a PairSever a long-haul pair so two drivers can share the day — the legs stay put, they just stop travelling together. Immediately.Walkthrough
  • The Region & Time FilterOne filter scopes vans, map and unassigned rides together — removed, not dimmed, and the state lives in the URL.Walkthrough
  • Swap, Reorder & UnassignSwap trades complete manifests; a reorder's sequence doesn't survive a re-solve; retimes do; unassign-all removes pins too.Walkthrough
  • The Edit Confirm DialogValidate → confirm → apply; what expands with your edit, forcing with a recorded override, what can't be forced, and reason tags.Guide
  • Commit & the WorklistCommit makes the baseline; Changes is the MediRoutes retranscription worklist with ticks that gate the next commit.WalkthroughGuide
  • Getting the Schedule into MediRoutesWritten companion to Commit & the Worklist — the retranscription checklist end to end.Guide
  • The Feedback PageWho changed what and why, forced-override attribution, and the weekly triage loop your reason tags feed.Guide

DThe Trips tab

  • The Trips TabThe deadhead hunt (turn garage legs off), inter-regional corridors, split-journey checks, and the unassigned-reason triage.Guide

EThe Drivers tab

  • The Drivers TabHOS and overtime triage (red at 15h, amber at 13h), deadhead-per-driver outliers, and the staffing scans.Guide

FStarting completely fresh

  • Starting Completely FreshThe four durable per-date artifacts, the lighter “ignore for one run” route, and the full reset sequence — with the what-survives table.GuideTable
