What “deadhead” means on this tab

The empty leg into that trip's pickup — previous stop → pickup, or garage → pickup for a van's first trip. With one rider at a time, that inbound empty leg is the price paid to serve the trip.

Workflow 1 · The deadhead hunt

Deadhead ≥ 25 mi → garage legs OFF → scan → was a closer van free? → unassign + assign, or leave it and note why

The garage toggle is the difference between signal and noise: a long garage → first-pickup leg is usually structural (the van lives far away), while a long between-trip leg is a schedule someone can actually improve. Turn garage legs off to hunt. For each suspect, flip to the Schedule tab and ask its region/time filter who else was free at that hour.

Workflow 2 · Corridors and split journeys

Inter-regional corridor review: filter A→B from region X to region Y. Are those trips on X vans, Y vans, or someone crossing twice? Pair with the Schedule tab's Fleet = Visitors to see who's crossing.

Split-journey check: the Roundtrip journey filter plus a region shows each rider's A and B legs — are they on sensible vans, or is this where Split pair earns its keep?

Workflow 3 · Worklists

Deferred funding source: filter to the excluded source — that's the hand-dispatch list to enter in MediRoutes.

Unassigned triage: the reason column says why the solver left each trip. Group similar reasons before deciding whether it's a data problem (fix with a retime) or a supply problem (fix with a van).
