Why this step exists

MediRoutes cannot be written to automatically. There is no way to push trip assignments into it, so the schedule you build here is transcribed by hand — and that is expected, permanent, and designed for.

Supernova owns the planning; MediRoutes remains the system that runs the day. Commit is the moment a plan stops being a draft: it becomes the durable, attributed plan of record for that date, and it becomes the baseline every later change is measured against.

Everything after a commit is answering one question: what changed since the last commit, and have I copied it across yet?

The loop

You will go round this more than once in a day. That is normal — it is designed for repeat commits, not one big one.

Solve and edit until the plan is one you'd dispatch

Assignments, pins, retimes, splits — all the usual work.
Commit

Check the numbers in the dialog, then confirm. The first commit of a date takes about a minute because it builds every manifest.
Open Changes and transcribe

Changes opens the Changes since commit worklist. This is your MediRoutes transcription list. Tick each row as you copy it across.
Keep editing, and commit again

The next commit shows only what moved since the last one, so you never re-transcribe work you already did.

The commit dialog

Five numbers and a hint. One of them is routinely misread.

The dialog shows assigned and unassigned trip counts, vehicles used, the edit version, and forced overrides — plus a hint reading "Last committed HH:MM by {name} — {N} edits since", which tells you whether anyone has committed ahead of you.

Forced overrides is a running total for the run

It is not the number you forced in this sitting. Re-reading the dialog before a second commit makes it look as though your overrides doubled. They didn't — you are seeing the same cumulative figure again.

While the commit is in flight the button disables and a seconds counter ticks upward, so a slow first commit does not read as a freeze. Don't close the dialog.

The transcription worklist

Deliberately not a modal — the manifests stay usable while you work through it.

You can keep the worklist open, click a van chip to jump the manifest panel straight to that van, read the stops, copy them into MediRoutes, and tick the row. Nothing forces you out of the list to look something up.

What it gives you:

a commit-pair picker, so you can diff any two commits, not just the last two;
a home-region filter for the vans, so you can work one region at a time;
van chips that jump the manifest panel to that van;
per-trip reason tags, recording why a change was made;
transcription ticks, recording that you copied it across.

Two gates, and only one of them stops you

What blocks a commit

Untagged reasons	Advisory	Nothing. It shows an amber note and never disables the button.

The tick gate exists so a plan cannot quietly diverge from what dispatch is running. The override is there for real situations — use it knowingly, because it records that the date was committed without full transcription.

Reviewing what was changed and why

The Feedback page — reachable from the Data page and from the schedule toolbar — is the date-scoped review of every edit, grouped by the kind of action. Beyond the reason text, each row also shows:

who made the edit, which is not necessarily who pressed Commit;
for a forced change, which constraint it broke, on the badge.

The distinct-reason count is a count of different reasons given. The forced count is a row total, so one trip forced twice counts twice.

When commit won't go through

The button says "Stale — re-solve to edit"

The date's data was re-imported after this run finished, so the run no longer matches what's loaded. Re-solve; the plan you are looking at can still be read, but it can't be edited or committed.

The commit timed out

Do not immediately retry. A timeout does not mean it failed — the commit may have completed server-side. Check the "Last committed" hint first. If it shows your commit, you're done.

Someone else committed while I was working

The "Last committed HH:MM by {name} — {N} edits since" hint is how you spot it. One shared date, one baseline — talk to them before committing over the top.

The worklist is long and I've already transcribed most of it by hand

Tick what you did rather than overriding. The ticks are the record that dispatch and the plan agree; an override records the opposite.

Throwing a committed plan away

Discard commits retires the date's baseline. It is leads only.

Reach for it when the committed plan is one you have abandoned outright — not as a way to tidy up a plan you could transcribe your way out of. Discarding removes the baseline that later diffs are measured against.

Your tick-offs survive a discard

The confirmation currently gives two different answers about this. The first screen is the correct one: tick-offs are kept.
